The Urban Heat Island (UHI) caused by building densification greatly impacts the sustainability of urban residents and environment. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize envelope space buildings for green retrofitting so that they can contribute mitigating UHI effect. In particular, existing historic has become an effective means improve resilience cities in modernization process. this study, Vertical Greenery Systems (VGS) were proposed traditional commercial residential Guangzhou, China.
